What We Do & How We Do It

As a leading Curation and Engagement Centro, UiTM GESTURZ champions Sustainable Creativity by offering a diverse range of event platforms, including exhibitions, creative tourism (guided tours for local and international visitors), seminars, workshops, and special curation projects.

Focused on both individuals and organisations, GESTURZ's core functions revolve around the 4Cs: Collect, Care, Curate, and Communicate. It manages the university's permanent collection, the Budiman collection, and commercial consignments while also organising exhibitions and creativity-driven events.

All activities are strategically aligned with key performance indicators (KPI) such as PI017 – Number of Cultural Works or Exhibitions, PI057 – Number of Publications, and PI069 – Number of Intellectual Property Rights (Copyrights). Moreover, the impact of these initiatives is carefully measured by how they contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The transformation of UiTM GESTURZ has enabled the organisation to provide services in a “university-centric” governance. Activities that largely focus on engagement and curation can now be extended and refined, while the task of promoting UiTM can collectively be executed through collaborative efforts involving many departments and even industry. 

The Centro is ready to move forward; learning from the past, and making the most out of the present. There are opportunities in every challenge that presents itself, transforming the Centro into a more agile and mature presence that further drives the university’s agenda, looking into the bright side of every challenge.
